Through offering overseas service internship opportunities, the Global Y Trainee Programme has served over 1,000 students since it was first launched in 2004. The Programme has continually received positive feedback from students. Programme Features

Duration: 4-10 weeks meaningful service internship at a designated overseas YMCA service centre or campsite

Joint-U & Non-Academic: Meet and connect with students from different universities

Cultural Exchange: Immerse yourself in valuable cultural experiences that broaden your worldview

Comprehensive Training: Receive well-structured pre-departure training to prepare you for your journey

Dedicated Support: Get one-on-one guidance from our staff at the University & College YMCA Department and the overseas YMCA
Programme Details

Eligibility: Full-time local students aged 18-29 with a valid University & College YMCA membership (Membership application is open all-year-round. CLICK HERE for membership application.)

Internship Period: June to Mid-August 2026 (4-10 weeks)

Scope of work: Youth & Children Service, Camp Service, Teaching or Administrative Supports etc.

North America : USA
Africa: Kenya
Asia: Sri Lanka, Taiwan, The Philippines
Programme Fee: $6,500 up (varies with the internship locations) + $1,000 deposit

Remarks
#The $1,000 deposit will be forfeited if the trainee fails to complete the followings by 11 September 2026

Attend all pre-departure training and post-trip activities (if any) and the evaluation meeting;

Submit a progress report of not less than 200 words in both Chinese and English with 3 working photos in the middle of the internship period;

Submit the Overseas Supervisor Feedback Form;
-
Submit the online self-evaluation form and at least 10 working photos after the internship;
-
Prepare a 10-min presentation to summarise your internship experience for the evaluation meeting; and
-
Complete the Programme with satisfactory performance and full attendance.
