Newbies Exclusive Series
To celebrate the start of the semester, we are now offering a large variety of programmes to every new/renewed member! If you are a new/renewed member of University & College YMCAs (Must be Full-time Undergraduate Students of HKBU, CUHK, HKUST, LU, HSUHK, PolyU, HKU or Full-time Students of YMCA-COC) registered on/after 1 Aug 2024, you will be given priority to join “Newbies Series” programmes** below. Application starts from 9am, 2 Sep 2024! Quota is limited, first- come-first-served.

Natural Tie-dyeing x Heritage Visit x Children Service
Through participating in a turmeric dyeing workshop and a guided tour of cultural heritage sites, you can gain knowledge about low-carbon living and environmental conservation. On the service day, you will lead the tie-dyeing activity and share the environmental protection knowledge with children.

Weaving Workshop x
Elderly Service
Through learning weaving techniques to build inner peace in yourself. On the service day, you will weave cushions with other volunteers and donate them to the elderly to share warmth.

Dementia VR Experience x Elderly Service
Through VR experience, you will be able to understand various cognitive impairment symptoms from a first-person perspective. On the service day, you will serve the elderly by playing various board games which can help stimulating the brain functions with them.

Nam Shan Estate Local Tour x
MT Workshop
Guided by an instructor, you will visit the Nam Shan Estate to gain in-depth understanding of local public housing culture and human sentiments. After that, you will create an artwork by using masking tape, the "tape-tearing" process allows you to focus on the present and forget you worries.

"Cultural Cyclists"
Guided Bike Tour on Local Culture
Through a guided cycling tour, you will be able to learn about the local ecology and unique culture of Ping Shan Heritage Trail in Yuen Long, enhancing your connection with the community.
*This event will be conducted in English, supplemented with Cantonese. Both local and non-local students are welcome to join.
